Once we reach the river before we jump in, our bilingual certified river rafting guides will go over safety instructions, will explain the white water rafting techniques, and basic posture and paddling instruction. Once everyone in the group is briefed and ready, we will push off into the Balsa River and let the white water rapid fun begin!!

Rafting the Balsa River is an action filled 2 hour journey through some of the best Costa Rica white water rapids that will challenge, excite and thrill you as you paddle through roaring rapids. The soaking wet fun is balanced with many opportunities to view wildlife on the calm stretches in between the rough whitewater rapids. Animals such as sloths, iguanas, monkeys and exotic tropical birds all call the shores of the Balsa River home. Your guides can help spot the wildlife hidden in the Costa Rica rainforest. Meanwhile, after all that paddling, we will stop for a rest along the river and re-charge with some yummy fresh tropical fruits. Then its back in the rafts to finish our adventure rafting the Balsa River.

All that paddling builds up quite an appetite. We have you covered! Once the rafting ends, paddlers may enjoy a relaxing swim or a cold beverage on shore as we pack up. We offer water, juice, soda and beer, as well as clean fresh towels. Lastly you are cordially invited in joining us on an authentic Costa Rican lunch which will be the last destination of our tour.
