Hotel shuttles to Tortuguero National Park depart daily from San Jose, Puerto Viejo & the La Fortuna & Arenal region around 6:00am daily. After approximately a 2 hour drive depending your departure location, we will make a stop to stretch our legs, eat a hot breakfast and use the facilities at the Exploradores base camp in Siquirres. From here it is a short drive to board the boats in the Tortuguero Canals for the final leg of the journey. The total travel time is around 5 hours, putting you in Tortuguero to check into your hotel before noon!
Afternoon Shuttles from Tortuguero
Shuttles returning to San Jose, Puerto Viejo or La Fortuna depart daily around 11:30am from your hotel, or the main dock in Tortuguero Town. We will board the boat on the journey through the canals to the mainland docks. From there you will be transported by van to the Exploradores base camp in Siquirres where you will have a chance to stretch and use the facilities and grab a quick snack and water before getting back in the van for the continued trip to your final destination.

Departures: Morning shuttles to Tortuguero depart at 6:00am and arrive to Tortuguero around 11:45am. Afternoon shuttles from Tortuguero depart at 11:30am and arrive at your final destinations around 5:00pm. Exact meeting instructions and pick up times will be provided on your confirmed voucher.
Length: Approximately 5 hours, but varies between destinations and traffic in route.
Tortuguero Shuttle Recommendations:
Children: All ages welcome! Bring the whole family! If you are traveling with small children, you will need to bring your own car seat, or let us know their age and size on the special instructions area while booking and we can provide one for you.
Restrictions: All ages welcome, however due to the remote location, this service is not wheelchair accessible. In addition, there is no luggage limit. However, it is suggested to pack light when venturing to Tortuguero during your Costa Rica vacation. Keep in mind you are going to have to lug that luggage onto docks and boats. Of course we are happy to assist you with your luggage. But Tortuguero is not a place you want to try to pull a large suitcase around on wheels.
