From La Fortuna we drive the 10 miles to La Tigra, where we switch vehicles for the 7 mile drive to El Poco Sol Biological Station. Here we get to meet the park rangers and learn a little about the history of the Children’s Eternal Rainforest (Bosque Eternal de los Niños) and the concept behind Costa Rica’s largest private reserve. We'll begin our hike traveling along the La Zamia trail for about 2 hours before stopping to enjoy our lunch right on the reserve. Afternoon finds us on the Catarata Velo de Novia trail for about two and a half hours where we'll experience the volcanic activity the Monteverde cloud forest region is so famous for.
